YUM is definitely one of the top words to describe this pasta. This tom yum pasta is a personal favorite of mine because I really enjoy eating spicy food. So this tom yum pasta really hits the spot, combining my love for pasta and spice. The key ingredient is the right tom yum paste, which flavours the whole dish. So it is best to get a more authentic tom yum paste, which you can find from any Thai supermarts. If you are living in Singapore like me, you can get the tom yum paste from the Thai supermarket at Golden Mile Complex. Here is the tom yum paste which I used in my pasta.
Also, feel free to add in your choice of seafood here! Besides prawns, this tom yum pasta would work great with squid, clams and mussels.

- Steps on how to cook the perfect pasta here.
- In a pan on medium high heat, add olive oil and fry your prawns with shell on (approx. 5 mins depending on size of prawns) and remove them from the pan once they are cooked through.
- Add in the garlic, chilli and onions and fry until softened, about 5 mins.
- Add in cherry tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes are soft and burst when pressed with a spoon.
- Add in 1 tbsp of tom yum paste.
- Add in a few tbsps of the pasta water to loosen the paste, and stir everything together until it becomes somewhat of a sauce.
- Lower the heat, and bring the sauce to a low simmer.
- Once pasta is cooked ala dente (firm and not easily breakable), toss in the cooked pasta in the sauce for a minute so that the pasta absorbs some of the sauce.
- Top it off your pasta with the cooked prawns and you’re in for a treat!
